I don't like tomatoes. So why in the world am I dedicating a whole month of illustrations to them? Two reasons...first, I have a lot of personal tomato stories (strange as it is) and second, I really love drawing tomatoes. They are quite happy-looking. It's not that I hate tomatoes, it's just that I really don't love the
taste of them (at least in the raw state).
I love this one.
ReplyDeleteI love tomatoes! Fresh from the garden is best. Some of them that have been in the store have lost their flavor. Thanks for the beautiful illustration today!
ReplyDeletebut they taste so good! try them slightly warm on a burger, with salt and garlic powder, maybe some pepper, and above all the best are home grown!
ReplyDeleteIt's great to see all the tomato lovers out there! :)
ReplyDeleteTrue Oddity: I'm kind of the opposite of you. Tomatoes are my fav food. I eat them raw, right off the vine in my yard, just like grapes. When we have store bought tomatoes, I eat the raw like apples.
ReplyDeleteI can handle tomato sauce. And ketchup. But I hate hate hate warm and sun dried tomatoes. Tomatoes on pizza? Ewww. Roasted? Yuck.
My mom is like you though--fine as sauce, but won't eat them otherwise.
My husband hates tomatoes, too, although, like you, only in their raw state. If they're cooked and "mooshed," they're okay with him. Me, I love 'em any ol way. Once my sister and I ate a peck of them -- and paid for it, in several ways!
ReplyDeleteLove the drawings
It truly is an oddity!
