For the past few years I've lived a double life. By day I was a landscape architect/garden designer, while at night I created whimsical food illustrations for my blog, clients and gift shops. It was finally time to merge these worlds...and fess up that it was perfectly okay.

For the past few years I've lived a double life. By day I was a landscape architect/garden designer, while at night I created whimsical food illustrations for my blog, clients and gift shops. It was finally time to merge these worlds...and fess up that it was perfectly okay.
This blog began as a goal to draw one food illustration a day for a whole year (originally all on playing cards). I achieved that goal in 2009, then eventually folded my food fetish within my love of gardening. Today I explore garden design in my own experimental way...through illustrations and photography.
My degrees are in landscape architecture, plus I'm registered in the state of Iowa. I also have the lovely job of teaching landscape design in the horticulture department at Iowa State University. I have to pinch myself each day to make sure I'm not dreaming.
