Zucchini

The zucchini are just popping out of the garden right now.  Oh, what to do with them...

For those wondering about how these paintings are made...each one is on a playing card, then I've glued on some antiqued paper (from an old thesis I found at university surplus), then finally I paint and ink the final image.  That's it.

Yogurt and Zucchini

...and finally the last two.  I really should do something like this again.  Have you seen my ABC breakfast print?

Zucchini Chocolate Chip Cake

I just want to run over to the kitchen right now and make this.

Ah, the addition of chocolate chips makes anything ten times better. Check out this tasty zucchini recipe from Prairie Story.

Zesty Zucchini Ribbons

Sometimes the best recipes happen when we're forced to only use what we have in our refrigerator. This is a great example of that.

Ribbons are such a great way to add a fresh twist to zucchini too. Check out this fun recipe from My Tasty Handbook.

Sara Savoury

This is a family and friend favorite from Sara's Kitchen Creations. It's a pastry puff filled with lots of fabulous vegetables....including zucchini.

Which brings me to another topic - my garden is popping with zucchini so the next few posts will highlight them.

Z is for Zucchini

I've made it to the last letter and, yes, it's zucchini (probably no surprise). I think my next project might be making a food alphabet poster. If I can just find the time... {print available}

Three Corn Night

At dinner last week my husband accidently made three corn side dishes. Not sure how it happened, but we had simple boiled corn, corn-on-the-cob, and corn stirred in with zucchini...all during one meal. He didn't realize until we sat down to eat. And he thinks I can't focus. {available}

Zucchini

It's officially zucchini season and the plants are about to take over the garden. My husband picked the first one two days ago and made a lovely dish with them last night. He simply cut them up into small cubes, then sauteed them in olive oil and parmesan cheese. I was amazed that he could make them taste so good. {available}
