ANOTHER SET OF VEGETABLES

My last bit of diving into the past...my tagged vegetables (back in 2012).  I love the idea of scrapbooking, but never have the time to do it, so this is my attempt to add those cute little doo-dads on something.

These illustrations are also available on cards in my Etsy Shop. You can take a peek here.

Thanks for reminiscing with me!

Green Bean Casserole

This has become our staple at potlucks.  We grow and freeze a lot of green beans and can't possibly eat them all ourselves, so they are often shared with family and friends.

Happy new year with some brussel sprouts

I had a taste for brussel sprouts today and it reminded me of the lovely dinner we had at my husband's aunt's house on Christmas day.  She often has this mini cabbage and I just LOVE them.

Oh, and happy new year too!

Craving Fresh Veggies

A big bowl of fresh veggies was served at the luncheon I attended earlier this week.  It was simply large cuts of cucumber, red and orange pepper, olives, and onions covered in lemon juice and olive oil.  Feta cheese was served on the side.  I can't tell you how yummy it was.  I really miss being able to run out to the garden for fresh vegetables (I say this as we're being blasted by a blizzard!).

Beets & Bunnies

I am so embarrassed to have let this much time pass since my last post.  I've decided to break from tradition a little bit and just post some projects I've been working on.

For the next few days I'll be sharing the recent postcards I've designed...inspired from my fabric patterns.

This is "Beets & Bunnies" available as a postcard and fabric.

Vegetables

This month I'm working on a special project...so will be focusing on vegetables.

The pace will be a little slower, so I hope you'll take a deep breath and follow along.

Sara Savoury

This is a family and friend favorite from Sara's Kitchen Creations. It's a pastry puff filled with lots of fabulous vegetables....including zucchini.

Which brings me to another topic - my garden is popping with zucchini so the next few posts will highlight them.

Vegetable by Law

Botanically speaking tomatoes are fruit. In the culinary world they are vegetables. Here is an interesting tidbit...in 1883 the tomato was legally defined as a vegetable. Why? Find out more here. Thanks to Leila for sharing this via Facebook.

Fresh Vegetables

With spring, I think, finally here I'm really craving fresh vegetables. I can't wait until we plant our garden and I can snatch from it daily.
